In Recent Years The Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Drug Products Have Gained A Major Share Of Prescribed Pharmaceuticals, Which Majorly Includes Monoclonal Antibodies, RDNA Products, Peptides And Proteins. The New Active Substances That Were Recently Launched Are Of Biotec Products. Hence The Techniques Of Biotechnology Act As A Driving Force Of Modern Drug Discovery Process. Due To This Rapid Growth The Field Of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Has Become An Increasingly Important Component in The Education Of Today’s And Tomorrow’s Pharmacists And Pharmaceutical Scientists.
So the Pharmacy Council of India has decided to keep a separate syllabus for the B.Pharm students in their new Regulation for B.Pharm 2014. We believe that there is a critical need for an introductory handbook on pharmaceutical biotechnology that provides well-integrated, detailed coverage of both the basic science and clinical application of biotechnology-product pharmaceuticals.
This is our first edition of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology tried to provide a well-balanced framework for covering the entire topics a per the PCI syllabus more over it will provide up-to-date information and introduce students to the cutting edge knowledge and technology of this field
We are convinced that Pharmaceutical Biotechnology makes an important contribution to the education of pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals as well as serving as a ready resource on biotechnology.
